The Great Sand Dunes National Park is situated in south central Colorado.  Here you will find the tallest dunes in North America, up to 750 feet, spread over a 30-mile expanse.  I was here for sunset so I hiked the tallest dune and shot pre and post sunset.  Thank goodness I always have a GPS as the navigation back was deceiving and you can get lost among these dunes quite easily.  I always have my Garmin InReach with me and love the product!  I also subscribe to their emergency service which allows me to call for emergency rescue if I should ever need it – a true peace of mind and safety when traveling and hiking.  I do not have any affiliations with Garmin but just love and live by their product.

The images found here are a series of these sand dunes that highlight the beauty of patterns, textures and the abstract.
