Paint Mines Interpretive Park

The Calhan Paint Mines Archeological District (a.k.a. Paint Mines Interpretive Park) is located in El Paso County, Colorado.  It is a unique mix of badlands, wetlands and prairie offering extremely unique rock formations.  Named for the colorful clay found here which were originally collected by natives to be used as paint.
