The Spiral Jetty. This is actually a sculpture created by Robert Smithson in 1970 on the north shore of the Great Salt Lake, Utah. It is made from basalt rocks, salt crystals and mud and spans 1500 feet from the shoreline and is 15 feet wide. Currently it is on dry land but in the past it has been protruding from the water and even submerged. These images show the Spiral Jetty surrounded by salt crystals with Gunnison Island in the background. Some of these images are captured from the roof of my van and others are aerials captured with a Mavic 2 Pro.
