Yellowstone National Park

I did a quick stop here on my way north and I chose to shoot the Grand Prismatic Spring and Artists Point. The Grand Prismatic Spring is the most photographed thermal feature in Yellowstone, although not as famous as Old Faithful. This hot spring is the largest in the US and the third largest in the world. It is deeper than a 10 story building and spans 370 feet across. The rainbow colors of the hot spring come from the different species of thermophile bacteria living in and around the spring. Artists Point was my choice for sunset and is known as the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone and highlights the 308 foot Lower Falls.
