Carlsbad Caverns is now a National Park and is found in southern New Mexico nestled in the Guadalupe Mountains. These caverns are one of the oldest and most famous cave systems in the world. They are over 265 million year old and contains over 25 named rooms and chambers with the largest at over 250 feet high. In the fall, the millions of bats that make their home in the caverns leave the caves at sunset in a spectacular scene. Here are some images from our time in the caverns:
